Using a structured approach, a review of the Manufacturing operation was undertaken and reccomendations made to
improve factory performance in the short and medium terms.
The areas covered included:
- A people profile with key skills gaps identified.
- A plant risk analysis including contingency shortfalls.
- Equipment utilisation deficiencies.
- Capital project planning shortfalls.
The improvement plan was agreed and the following benefits established:
- A recruitment process was undertaken where the major gaps have been filled.
- A plant/process contingency matrix was drawn up and a project to lower the existing risk commenced with
the OEM. Projected benefits are £150k per annum.
- Significant process was made on a key part of the process in both quality and efficiency with projected
cost of quality savings of £100k over the next year.
- A key site project valued at 700k has been project managed and forward implement plan agreed.
